How it works

A safer way to find a two-way match

Swap Your Test introduces two learners whose existing bookings and preferences fit each other. We never access or change a DVSA booking.

1. Add the booking you already hold

Enter your existing test centre, date and time. Tell us if DVSA confirmed extra time because of a disability, health condition or learning difficulty, as extra-time bookings can only match each other. Extended driving tests for disqualified drivers are not currently supported. Do not give us your driving licence number, booking reference or DVSA sign-in details.

2. Choose what you would accept

Select suitable centres and a date range. Your listing remains active until its test date unless you cancel it or both people confirm a completed swap.

3. Activate your Swap Search

£9.99 one-off, with no subscription. We check compatible listings already present and new listings while your search remains active. A swap is not guaranteed. A match appears only when each booking falls within the other person's choices. Either learner can send a request.

4. Compare requests and decide

Your listing stays active while requests are pending. You can compare them, accept one, decline one or withdraw your own request. When one is accepted, conflicting requests close automatically.

5. Contact each other

After both learners positively agree, their mobile numbers and email addresses are shared solely so they can arrange the swap. Contact details are never shown on public listings.

6. Complete the change with DVSA

Arrange a time when both learners are available. One learner calls DVSA on 0300 200 1122 and selects option 2. DVSA completes security checks and calls the second learner using the number on their booking. Read the official DVSA swapping guidance.

7. Protect sensitive information

Swap Your Test never asks for or stores your driving-licence number, DVSA booking reference, theory-test certificate number, payment-card details or DVSA login. Learners exchange the necessary booking reference themselves after speaking. Never share your licence number, card details, security codes or login.

8. Confirm the outcome

Both people must mark the swap complete before the listings close. If it does not go ahead, choose “Swap not going ahead” and the listings become available again immediately.
