This notice explains the information Swap Your Test uses, why we use it and the choices available to you.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Swap Your Test Ltd, company number 17444620, registered in England and Wales. Registered office: 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE. Privacy questions can be sent to support@swapyourtest.com.
Information we collect
We use your email address, mobile number, encrypted account credentials, session and security information, existing test details, centres and dates you would accept, match decisions, consent records, support messages and payment references. Before registration, we may count an anonymous search against the selected current test centre so we can show genuine recent interest. We do not attach that count to a name, email, phone number, IP address, exact test date or test time. Card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by us.
Extra test time
An extra-time selection may reveal accessibility or health-related information. It is optional, starts unticked and is used for matching only when you give explicit consent. You can withdraw that consent by editing the listing and removing the selection.
Why we use it
We process information to provide your account, paid listing and matching service; keep the platform secure; respond to support and reports; meet accounting and legal duties; and improve reliability. Depending on the activity, our legal basis is performance of our contract, legitimate interests, legal obligation or your explicit consent.
Who receives it
We use service providers including Hostinger for hosting, Stripe for payments, Resend for transactional email and, where you consent, Meta for advertising measurement. Your mobile number and email address are revealed only to the learner whose request you accept, after both people consent, and only to arrange that proposed swap.
Retention and international transfers
We keep anonymous test-centre search counts for no more than 90 days. We keep account, listing and match information only for as long as needed to run the service, resolve disputes and meet legal duties. Financial records may need to be retained for up to six years. Some providers may process data outside the UK using recognised transfer safeguards.
Your rights
You may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or to object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
